Yasser M. Mufti Board Member

Yasser M. Mufti was appointed Executive Vice President of Products & Customers from September 1, 2023.

He was senior vice president of Fuels from July 2021, and previously vice president of Strategy & Market Analysis from June 2017. Prior to that, he was executive director of New  Business Development and President & CEO of Aramco Trading.   

From 2013 to 2014, Mr. Mufti led  the Strategic Transformation Office, responsible for guiding the company through implementation of its corporate-wide transformation program, including behavior change and youth engagement components. Afterwards he created and led Aramco’s first M&A function.

From 2012 to 2013, he served as Saudi Arabia’s Governor to OPEC and adviser to HE Ali I. Al Naimi, former minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources. Mr. Mufti was appointed Chairman of OPEC’s Board of Governors during this time.

He joined Saudi Aramco in 1995 and spent the first seven years in Refined Product Sales before continuing his career in Corporate Planning. He then ran several Upstream departments, including Sea Water Injection, Southern Area Production Services, and Hawiyah Gas Plant.

Prior to joining Saudi Aramco, Mr. Mufti worked as a wireline engineer with Schlumberger for five years in several countries.

Mr. Mufti completed a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, an MBA from City University of London, and an Executive Development program from North Western's Kellogg School of Management.

Mr. Mufti serves as Chairman of the Board for Valvoline Global, Aramco Lubricants & Retail Company (ALuRe), Saudi Aramco Jubail Refinery (SASREF) and Tas’helat Marketing Company (TMC). In addition, he sits on the Boards of Motiva Enterprises LLC, Aramco Trading Company (ATC), and PrefChem (JV with Petronas in Malaysia).

Previously he served on the Boards of the Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare (JHAH), Saudi Aramco Energy Ventures LLC (SAEV), SATORP, Wa'ed and DUSSUR.

Mr. Mufti is the Chairman of the Oxford Energy Policy Club and a member of the Global Energy Board.
